Powerpoint for PSA #3 Water Woes

$9.03

•       This third PSA video in two parts will be used to test the new channel on You Tube.  It is shorter than instructional videos.  It will introduce catastrophic thinking by presenting policy ideas to anticipate the inevitable shortages of fresh (drinking) water.  Catastrophic Thinking also anticipates worst case scenarios, as illustrated by sea levels rising because of a warming world.   Key parts of catastrophic thinking are to identify strategic assets and identify system vulnerabilities.    The video  will show how the CAVEAT tools may lead to fresh policy proposals.  Specifically, the video invites us to think back in natural history to anticipate known risks, as well as to build in and plan for resilience and sustainability. Proposals include banning drilling which is draining our fresh water aquifers, an emphasis on harvesting freshwater from the atmosphere, terminating publicly-supported coastal flood insurance, and financing portable desalination facilities.
